Tuesday's Daily Bulletin paper, ran two articles on the front page side by side :
1- Calif 's 20 Billion Dollar Budget Deficit
2- The Calif Supreme Court ruling that ILLEGALS can attend college and get benefits.
Why don't they just deport them when they arrive to register?
3- Last year they ran an article on the yearly costs to Calif Taxpayers from Illegals using Hospital Emergency Rooms for their general health care -
At just one hospital the cost to tax payers totaled over 25 million a year

We're broke "living paycheck to paycheck" & can't help our own Seniors, Veterans, Orphans, Homeless etc.,???????????
In the last months we have provided aid to Haiti , Chile , and Turkey Isrial,Japan. And now Pakistan .....home of bin Laden. Literally, BILLIONS of DOLLARS !!!
Our retired seniors living on a 'fixed income' receive no aid nor do they get any breaks while our government and TAX Exempt religious organizations pour Hundreds of Billions of $$$$$$'s and Tons of Food to Foreign Countries!
They call Social Security and Medicare an entitlement even though most of us have been paying for it all our working lives and now when its time for us to collect, the government is running out of money. Why did the government borrow from it in the first place?
Just like the mob ripped off Unions pention funds to "create" Las Vagas...
Corruption will remain endemic to labor unions like the Teamsters as long as .... for clients including private jets, Vegas nightclubs and Super Bowl tickets. Since the firm specializes in managing union pension funds, ... union officials who were effectively ripping off the very employees they claim to represent. ... http://www.nrtw.org/en/free-tagging/union-corruption?page=3 - We have hundreds (Thousands) of adoptable children (Black & White) who are shoved aside to make room for the adoption of foreign orphans. AMERICA: a country where we have homeless without shelter, children going to bed hungry, elderly going without 'needed' meds, and mentally ill without treatment -etc,etc.
YET..................... They have a 'Benefit' for the people of Haiti on 12 TV stations, ships and planes lining up with food, water, tents clothes, bedding, doctors and medical supplies.
Imagine if the *GOVERNMENT* gave 'US' the same support they give to other countries.
Sad isn't it?
99% of people won't have the guts to forward this. I'm one of the 1% -- I Just Did

A Jeff Koons sculpture depicting a topless blonde hugging the Pink Panther fetched $16.9 million at Sotheby’s (BID) tonight.
The result fell short of the presale estimate of $20 million to $30 million and of the artist’s auction record.
The porcelain piece, which went to a telephone bidder, came up early during Sotheby’s http://www.sothebys.com/ auction of postwar and contemporary art. The sale is projected to bring in $120.8 million to $171.4 million, the New York-based company said.
Considered one of the most important works by Koons, “Pink Panther” (1988) was consigned by publisher Benedikt Taschen, who had been guaranteed an undisclosed amount through a third- party irrevocable bid.
“It’s a great Pop image for men of my generation,” said Ezra Chowaiki, New York-based art dealer. http://www.chowaikiandco.com/ “Pink Panther was my favorite cartoon when I was a kid. And the beautiful blond woman is a fantasy from our adolescence.”
The auction record for a Koons sculpture is $25.8 million paid for “Balloon Flower” at Christie’s http://topics.bloomberg.com/london/ in London in 2008. Sotheby’s priciest Koons was a giant magenta-and-gold “Hanging Heart” that fetched $23.6 million in November 2007.
Sotheby’s fell $2.83 to $43.71 in New York Stock Exchange composite trading.
Coming Auctions: May 11: Christie’s postwar and contemporary art. May 12: Phillips de Pury’s contemporary art.

The SS was commanded by Heinrich Himmler who developed a profound nostalgia for a lost aristocratic elite. Other figures who believed in a hidden elite or hidden masters included Blavatsky, Aleister Crowley, and List. Various secret societies including freemasons, the Rosicrucians, the Jesuits, and the Templars served as models for the SS. The SS wore a special "death's head" insignia . Notes to Women http://notestowomen.wordpress.com/2011/04/12/the-little-princess/ Broken Pieces Office Romance » The Little Princess April 12, 2011 by notestowomen
I remember her little voice as she sang, On the Good Ship Lollipop, her signature song and thought she looked a little a life-size doll with her golden curls and cute little face. She even had a cocktail named after her. She inspired many products which were manufactured and released during the 1930s. Ideal Toy and Novelty Company in New York City negotiated a license for dolls with the company’s first doll wearing the polka-dot dress from Stand Up and Cheer!.
The dolls were a success–they made $45 million in sales before 1941. Other items included a line of girls’ dresses and accessories, soap, dishes, cutout books, sheet music, mirrors, paper tablets, and numerous other items. Not bad for a little girl who sang and danced her way into many hearts and became America’s sweetheart. She was the most popular and famous child star of all time.
Shirley Temple was born on April 23, 1928 in Santa Monica, California to George Francis Temple, a bank employee, and his wife Gertrude Amelia (Krieger) Temple, a housewife. The Temples were of German, Dutch, and English ancestry, and the parents of John Stanley and George Francis, Jr. at the time of Temple’s birth. Mrs. Temple encouraged her daughter’s infantine singing, dancing, and acting talents, and in September 1931 enrolled her in Meglin’s Dance School in Los Angeles, California. About this time, she began styling Shirley’s hair in ringlets similar to those of silent film star Mary Pickford.
She began her film career in 1932 at the age of three, and in 1934, skyrocketed to superstardom in Bright Eyes, a feature film designed specifically for her talents. She received a special Academy Award in February 1935 at the age of six, making her the youngest star ever to be presented with an Oscar. And film hits such as Curly Top, and Heidi followed year after year during the mid to late 1930s.
Shirley was the box-office champion for three straight years, 1936-37-38, beating out such great grown up stars as Clark Gable, Bing Crosby, Robert Taylor, Gary Cooper and Joan Crawford (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0000073/bio). Way to go!
I remember seeing her in Since You Went Away with Claudette Colbert and Jennifer Jones and as Myrna Loy’s sister in The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer. As with most child stars, Shirley’s box office popularity waned as she reached adolescence, and she left the film industry at the age of 12 to attend high school. She appeared in a few films of varying quality in her mid to late teens, and retired completely from films in 1950 at the age of 22. What a shame. I guess people couldn’t see her as anything else the lovable, parentless waif whose charm and sweetness mellow gruff older men.
Shirley married twice. Her first marriage was to John George Agar, an Army Air Corps sergeant. They were married for five years but the marriage became troubled and on December 5, 1949, Shirley divorced John. It was finalized exactly one year later on December 5, 1950. Shirley met her second husband on In January 1950. Charles Alden Black was a WWII United States Navy Silver Star hero and Assistant to the President of Hawaiian Pineapple. They married on December 16, 1950 at his parents’ home before a small assembly of family and friends. They had two children, a son, Charles Alden Black, Jr and a daughter, Lori. Shirley and Charles remained married until his death on August 4, 2005, of complications from a bone marrow disease.
Life after Hollywood for Shirley included her serving on numerous boards of directors of large enterprises and organizations including The Walt Disney Company, Del Monte, Bank of America, the Bank of California, BANCAL Tri-State, Fireman’s Fund Insurance, the United States Commission for UNESCO, the United Nations Association, and the National Wildlife Federation.
In 1967, she ran unsuccessfully for United States Congress. Temple was appointed Representative to the 24th General Assembly of the United Nations by President Richard M. Nixon (September – December 1969), and was appointed United States Ambassador to Ghana (December 6, 1974 – July 13, 1976) by President Gerald R. Ford. She was appointed first female Chief of Protocol of the United States (July 1, 1976 – January 21, 1977), and was in charge of arrangements for President Jimmy Carter’s inauguration and inaugural ball.
She was appointed by President George H. W. Bush as United States Ambassador to Czechoslovakia (August 23, 1989 – July 12, 1992).
After she was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a a modified radical mastectomy, following the removal of the tumor, she announced it to the world via radio, television, and a February 1973 article for the magazine McCall’s. By doing this doing so, Shirley Temple became one of the first prominent women to speak openly about breast cancer.
She is the recipient of several awards such as many awards and honors including a special Academy Award, the Life Achievement Award from the American Center of Films for Children, the National Board of Review Career Achievement Award, Kennedy Center Honors, and the Screen Actors Guild Life Achievement Award (Wikipedia).
Shirley broke racial barriers by dancing with the original Mr. Bojangles, Bill Robinson, in The Little Colonel. Although she worked with many of Hollywood’s biggest stars, she declared that Bojangles was her favorite. It was through his experience with racism that she learned that not all people are treated the same. What a remarkable woman she is. Today we salute her for her accomplishments on and off the silver screen.
Gertrude Temple`s advice to her daughter before each scene: “Sparkle, Shirley, sparkle!”
I stopped believing in Santa Claus when I was six. Mother took me to see him in a department store and he asked for my autograph.
Shirley Temple doesn`t hurt Shirley Temple Black. Shirley Temple helps Shirley Temple Black. She is thought of as a friend – which I am! Shirley Temple
Lightning In a Bottle: A One Night History of the Blues http://stagevu.com/video/xowkyivmpmul By: djhellbor Category: Music Length: 105:28 Resolution: 560 x 304 Filesize: 601 MB Language: English Viewed: 1380 times
Part concert, part history lesson, part summit meeting, and all blues, Lightning in a Bottle puts a bright spotlight on this quintessential American music. There are some heavy hitters at work here, both behind the camera (Martin Scorsese executive produced, while the film was directed by Antoine Fuqua of Training Day and King Arthur) and especially in front of it, with a superb house band and a mind-boggling array of musicians (including B.B. King, Bonnie Raitt, Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry, Solomon Burke, Keb' Mo', Macy Gray, the Neville Brothers, Robert Cray, and John Fogerty, to name but a few) performing at New York's Radio City Music Hall in February, 2003. The idea was to trace the music from its beginnings; thus we get an African song (by Angelique Kidjo), some early gospel blues (the great Mavis Staples), acoustic Delta blues, and so on,right up to blues-drenched electric rock and even some rap (a riveting version of Howlin' Wolf's "Killing Floor" by Chuck D.). Virtually all of the immortals who defined the blues (Robert Johnson, Muddy Waters, and even Jimi Hendrix, whose fiery style is re-enacted by Buddy Guy) enter the picture, either through vintage film clips or new performances of their songs. One might wish for more insight into the influence of the blues on jazz or country, but overall, Lightning in a Bottle is an edifying and, most important, highly entertaining portrait of the music and its heritage

The toxins leached out of the plastic are being ingested by fish and birds and of course we are further down the food chain also then absorbing these toxins indirectly. http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2009/08/090820-plastic-decomposes-oceans-seas.html
The gyre was discovered by US sea captain Charles Moore in 1997. The problem was largely ignored until now as the Island has doubled in size.
Moore and his Algalita Foundation have dedicated their time and resources to understanding and looking for solutions to this problem. He is quite certain there are more patches out there.
The problem is indeed a huge one in the scheme of things. The wild life that thrives on the plankton in the area is ingesting the plastic and contaminating the stomach space that should be used for food for chicks. Turtles are choking on plastic bags. Sea Turtles are amazingly beautiful creatures and I wasn’t aware, until I read the Metro article, that they are responsible for helping to keep tropical beaches free of deadly box jellyfish which are toxic to humans but the Turtles are unaffected by their sting.
So for those of us who love to visit tropical beaches and swim in the warm ocean currents please think of this the next time you go to the grocery store and forget your reusable non-plastic bag.
