A mighty army of dolphins, sharks, whales, seals and gannets hunt down the billions of sardines along South Africa's east coast each winter.
This is the Sardine Run: an underwater Armageddon, the greatest gathering of predators anywhere on the planet, and the most spectacular event in the world's oceans.
From intimate moments of the creatures caught up in the run, to the dramatic finale of this spectacular event, The Great Tide is an action-packed feeding-frenzy, filmed
underwater, on the ocean's surface, and in the air.
However, in recent years the sardine run has become less predictable, perhaps due to the warming effects of climate change. If the sardine run does not happen, the
lives of the animals caught up in the drama hang in the balance. Pioneering a unique boat stabilised camera mount for surface filming, the Nature's Great Events crew
capture all the high octane action as the predators compete for sardines, filmed with aerial, underwater and above water cameras. Super slow motion cameras also
capture the very moment gannets plunge into the water, hitting it at sixty miles an hour. A violent winter storm is the trigger for the sardines to begin their desperate
dash. They are followed by a super-pod of 5,000 dolphins and further up the coast more predators gather. A shoal of sardines 15 miles long is pushed into the shallows
and aerial shots show thousands of sharks gathering to feed on them.

Heres just a couple of things:
Issue 1 - Maintenance
Issue 2 - Reverse Osmosis is extremely slow
Issue 3 - Reverse Osmosis uses lots of electricity
Issue 4 - Reverse Osmosis uses chemicals to treat water
Issue 5 - Reverse Osmosis wastes lots of water

Interesting video. I came across an innovative system for
industrial wastewater treatment called the Baleen Filter, that works like
a Baleen whale (filter feeder) to filter solids from waste water streams
very efficiently, there are videos here on You Tube about it. Very
environmentally friendly too.

We all know that exposure to radiation can be very, very bad for you. It's been fodder for sci-fi movies
for decades, turning tiny tots into mutated henchmen (The Gamma People, 1956) and transforming
a cowering homemaker into a giantess with a score to settle (Attack of the 50 Ft. Woman, 1958).
The real-world risks of chronic high-level exposure are known to be equally dramatic—and deadly.
But you may be surprised to learn that some of the materials and products sitting around your house
could be emitting low levels of radiation.
Case in point: Recently, superstore Bed, Bath & Beyond recalled some chrome tissue holders when
they were discovered to contain cobalt-60, a radioactive
material that probably made its way into the metal from recycled medical equipment. Though the
company stated that there was no threat to anyone's
health from the products, news reports claimed that holding the boxes against your body for a day
could be equivalent to getting a chest x-ray. And according
to the Environmental Protection Agency, there's no radiation exposure that doesn't pose some risk—
though the range of that risk is very wide.
With that in mind, This Old House has taken a fresh look at the everyday household objects that might
just be unhealthier than you think. Here are nine
possible radiation sources that could be under your roof right now.

While it is possible that one religion can be true and the others can be false, it is not
possible that all of them can be true at the same time if they are each proposing contradictory
claims about reality. Faith cannot be used as a method to distinguish religious claims and
determine, which, if any are true.
How could faith ever be something of value? When does the use of faith ever help distinguish
the truth or falsity of a claim? Faith is not a helpful component of human progress; it does
not help us distinguish between the real and the unreal.
If a person is going to play the faith card, they sure as purgatory better allow every other
religious faith to use it too. But that doesn't get us anywhere, now does it? Because, once you
examine the religions, you realize that contradictions between them--of the very important
doctrines they possess-- are plentiful. So you start to realize that the application of faith
doesn't move you a step closer to which one (if any) is actually true. I'm going with this wild
notion that two logical propositions that contradict each other cannot be equally true at the
same time.
Do miracle stories and testimonies help us increase our understanding of what is true and real....
do they help us discern which religion (if any) is true? When I was living in Senegal, I heard
plenty of miracles that Allah provided for the people there. I even traveled to the Great Mosque
in Touba and learned about more miraculous stories and answered prayers told by the people there.
Some were amazing...so convincing. The Mosque was incredible!
Not long ago I had a friend who was a JW and she had so many miraculous stories and answered
prayers. Does this mean that the miracles she experienced were objectively real and thus lend
validity to her particular faith? If you believe in miracles, --that they are evidence of the
supernatural--you would have to accept the miracles claimed by other religious faiths, right?--can't
argue with a personal testimony or an experience, can you? You don't believe these experiences?
These Muslims are being misled? How do you know? What if you're being misled by your particular faith?
How would you be able to tell the "true miracles" from the "false miracles"? The term "special
pleading" comes to mind. You would have to arbitrarily determine that the miracles of your
particular faith were true, while excluding all the claimed miracles cited by those of other faiths.
Now, if you start to say that the miracles of other faiths are also real, what about the doctrines
of those faiths? Why would the miracles of other faiths be real, true experiences but not the
doctrines? Miracles and testimonies cannot help us distinguish between religious faiths or whether
any of them are true because the actual doctrines of those religious faiths contradict the doctrines
of other religious faiths.
Personal visions, dreams and hallucinations might make us feel good or give us insight, but they
are not enough to be considered objectively real.
Is it really that intriguing that people of all religious beliefs have feelings/dreams/visions
that correspond to the current religion they happen to embrace or grew up with everyday of their life?
I wonder how many Protestants have visions of the virgin Mary and her involvement in the current
world or how many of them accept the personal testimonies of the Medjugorje visionaries? Or, how
many Catholics have dreams about the bread (Eucharist) at communion being PURELY SYMBOLIC....
or that scripture is, in fact, the final authority in matters of faith and salvation (sola scriptura)--
not the Pope? How many Hindus have dreams confirming the truth of Islam or Muslim's have visions that
The Book of Mormon--not the Koran--is the correct word of God? Not very likely. When we have dreams
and visions, we tend to have one's that correspond to what our brain has been exposed to the most.

I cannot belive that anyone would say anything other than? a pure critique about the movie.
This is exactly just that "a friggin movie" everyone should get over their worldly

The search for the mysterious "Afghan Girl," whose haunting, green-eyed gaze
captivated the world in a NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC magazine cover photograph,
takes EXPLORER on a world-wide journey in an attempt to solve the case of a
missing person. In January 2002, photographer Steve McCurry, who took the
1984 photograph and has been searching for the girl ever since, traveled to
Pakistan with a National Geographic EXPLORER team to search one last time.
The refugee camp where the original encounter took place was about to be
demolished. War in Afghanistan continues. The plight of refugees there and
in Pakistan is worsening. Has the "Afghan Girl" survived? With a lot of
detective work and a little luck, the EXPLORER team, together with McCurry,
finds a woman who could be the "Afghan Girl." How can they confirm that this
is the same person as the child photographed nearly 20 years ago? National
Geographic uses several methods, including state of the art iris recognition,
the FBI facial recognition techniques and the technology used by the National
Center for Missing and Exploited Children. Sigourney Weaver narrates.

NORFOLK, Va. - The superintendent of Norfolk, Va., schools apologized Saturday for a controversial classroom
lesson involving the mock auction of black students.
Apparently, during a fourth grade teacher's lesson on the Civil War, students were separated by race.
White students on one side and African American and mixed-race students on the other, who were then
offered up for auction, Virginia's Fox 43 news reports.
In an April 6 letter to the students' parents and guardians, Principal Mary B. Wrushen wrote, "I recently became
aware of a history lesson that was presented to the students in Ms. Jessica Boyle's fourth grade class.
Although her actions were well intended to meet the instructional objectives, the activity presented was
inappropriate for the students."
Wrushen added that she intends to follow up with the teacher to make sure this never happens again.
"The lesson could have been thought through more carefully, as to not offend her students or put them in
an uncomfortable situation," Wrushen said in the letter.
The letter also said a guidance counselor is available to discuss any concerns with students concerning
the classroom lesson.
Superintendent Dr. Richard Bentley said the school district does not condone this type of lesson.
"It was wrong. It was outside the boundaries of the curriculum and appropriate instructional practices," Bentley said.

However, in recent years the sardine run has become less predictable, perhaps due to the warming effects of climate
change. If the sardine run does not happen, the lives of the animals caught up in the drama hang in the balance.
Pioneering a unique boat stabilised camera mount for surface filming, the Nature's Great Events crew capture all the

STATEMENT ON ART:
In my narrative streetscapes, I take a variety of visual references and create a pastiche of fictionalized
tableaus that are sad, coarse and degenerate. This invented world dramatizes the spectacle of street
culture, where people aimlessly wander and interact in a state of somnambulistic rebellion. The weary
structures and street signs that backdrop these individuals metaphorically mimic their isolation and subtle
desperation. These sordid tales of public humiliation serve as an allegory for the ever-expanding malaise
of the working class, in the grand narrative tradition of Hogarth, Goya, and Dix.

Director Ronson was invited to the Kubrick Estate to go through thousands of boxes that
Kubrick had saved up throughout the years and what we see are some rather amazing items.
In his final 19-years Kubrick only made three films and the reasons why are discussed here.
If you're a fan of Kubrick then I don't see how it would be possible not to love this
documentary even though, sadly, it only runs for just under an hour. The mysterious figure
that Kubrick was is certainly going to be even more mysterious after this film but it does
give us a close look at how the genius worked. The most amazing section were notes from
fans that the director collected. Apparently he read them all and would mark them as being
positive, negative or crank meaning threatening. He would then take the letters and put
them together by the movie and then break them down into the cities where they came from.
Even more astounding is how much pre-production he would do when making movies. He had
his nephew, a photographer, spend a year taking pictures of stuff that would eventually go
into Eyes Wide Shut and that includes thousands of photographs for gates, which would end
up only being seen for a matter of seconds in the movie. There's a lot of wonderful footage
in this documentary and it's great to know that the Estate has turned all of this stuff
over to the London University of Arts where anyone can go and look through them.

This is a documentary series that was never aired where an investigative journalist uncovers truth to the rumors about Iran-Contra during
the Reagan years, CIA drug trafficking, CIA drug operations in Mena, Arkansas during the Clinton governorship and presidency. It also implies
that former president George H.W. Bush, who was vice president during the Reagan years, and was also former head of the CIA was also
involved. This documentary to my knowledge was recorded from a hacked satellite tuned to an "edit" channel which was feeding coast to coast
"preview programming" to network executives in NYC. Apparently the decision was made against running this program due to its content and
the "heat" that it would generate. The CIA poses as FBI more often than not, so perhaps the "FBI" stated this would interfere with their
investigation......

write it by the 1954 film of the same name. The British instrumental
group The Shadows were touring with Jerry when he played it for them,
and ultimately they recorded this version which was a big hit in

release of this recording, Jorgen Ingmann covered the song and took

The killing became the focus of an international outcry in 1980 when the docu-drama "Death Of A Princess" was

the British ambassador to Riyadh (KSA), withdrew 400 members of their royal family from Britain and cancelled
millions of pounds worth of exports.
A Saudi Arabian princess who had an illegitimate child with a BRITISH man has secretly been granted Asylum in
the UK after she claimed she would face the death penalty if she were forced to return home. The young woman,
who has been granted anonymity by the courts, won her claim for refugee status after telling a judge that her
adulterous affair made her liable to DEATH by STONING. [Thus, the Judge was obliged to grant SANCTUARY!

Her case is one of a small number of claims for Asylum brought by citizens of Saudi Arabia which are not openly

during a visit to London. They struck up a relationship after he gave her his telephone number in a department store.
She became pregnant the following year and worried that her ELDERLY husband - a member of the royal family of
Saudi Arabia - had become suspicious of her behaviour, she persuaded him to let her visit the UK again to give
birth in secret. She feared for her life if she returned to Saudi Arabia. [It is extremely easy to give birth
to a child in London in SECRET!][Many women from GCC countries take such actions with very great ease in London!]
She persuaded the court that if she returned to the Kingdom [of Saudi Arabia] she would be subjected to Capital
Punishment under Sharia law - specifically Flogging and Stoning to Death. She was also worried about the
possibility of an "Honour Killing".
Since she fled Saudi Arabia, her family and her husband's family have broken off contact with her.
The woman has been granted permanent leave to remain in the UK after the Immigration and Asylum Tribunal
unanimously allowed her appeal.
Keith BEST, of the Immigration Advisory Service, said that SAUDI nationals who were in genuine FEAR of
Persecution had the LEGAL RIGHT to claim Asylum in the United Kingdom. He explained: "They may also be
able to claim if they were subjected to Degrading and Inhumane treatment. [Art 3 ECHR]. I can see why
these cases can be difficult for Britain when one considers the relationship with the Saudi royal
family and the many military CONTRACTS."
In September 2008, women's rights activists [in very prominent positions of KSA society] petitioned
the King to allow women to drive all vehicles. There were also calls for Saudi Arabian women to be
allowed to compete in international sporting events along with their male counterparts.
[Approximately 75-90% of Muslims are SUNNI and 10-20% are SHIA].
According to AMNESTY INYTERNATIONAL, discrimination has fuelled violence against women, with foreign
domestic workers particularly at risk of ABUSES such as beatings, rape and even MURDER, and non-payment
of wages.
Concerns have been raised that discriminatory laws relating to marriage mean women are TRAPPED in VIOLENT
and ABUSIVE Relationships from which they have NO legal recourse.

This month we have two ads that have made headlines for their controversial and
utter tasteless attempts to gain attention. One ad is the Skyy Vodka ad which
shows a woman frolicking with a liquor bottle and the other is Federici ice
cream which is pulling the childish pregnant nun joke.These ads repel
they do not sell.
Building brand ID is useless if you build negative brand ID at the same time.
This is exactly what these ads are doing and it will not increase sales.

Wolfgang Roth and Partners’ current show ‘AFRICA’ is a catch-all of photographs of African subjects
by Native and non–Native African artists from the present back to the 1930’s and a substantial group
of Benin Bronze sculptures from the 12th-19th centuries. Although the show is a curatorial mixed bag,
the appearance of these antique bronze works from the African Kingdom of Benin in Miami is an
opportunity to catch something rare. In the 15 years this observer has lived in Miami there have been
no exhibitions of African Art comparable to this one and since the local museums are widely focused
on Contemporary Art, there is little likelihood that there will be another one anytime soon.
The photographers in the show include Leni Riefenstahl, the famous pro-Nazi filmmaker and movie star
who became a public relations symbol for the Third Reich; Peter Beard, an American artist and social
figure who has lived in Africa for decades; and African photographers Philip Kwame Apagya, Malick
Sibide and Samuel Fosso. All together they form a mix of periods, from the 1930’s to the present.
Even though the show is at a stretch nothing more than a general glimpse at African-related art
without a concise curatorial agenda, its diverse elements do offer some validation in the form
of welcome information about Africa today (even if inadvertently) as seen by people who are from
there, have lived there or have simply just visited the country’s central /western region – and
after all it is African Heritage Month ‘isn’t it?

A former British possession, Benin City (200 miles west of Lagos, in Nigeria (and not to be confused
with Benin the country)) was the center of a rich West African culture that produced some of the Africa’s
most acclaimed art. The 20 or so bronzes are reminiscent of the wood materials most typically associated
with African sculpture, but while the forms are familiar their permanence and formal sophistication are
a sharp reminder that African Art had a profound influence on early modernists like Picasso, Braque, Arp,
Gonzalez, Giacometti, Brancusi, and Miro among so many others who were shaken out of their European
academicism by exposure to these vital works. Similarly the lyrical bas reliefs and imposing sculptures
of royal figures define a civilization that reportedly awed Portuguese visitors in the 1400’s no less
than the British in the 1800’s. In fact the legend is that the British originally thought these works
couldn’t have been made by the Natives and must have been made by somebody else.
Among the most striking pieces here are a 12th century perforated mask that probably held additional
embellishments; the highly sophisticated bas reliefs of hunting and sacrifice scenes; and the sculpture
of the Royal pair (above).
Most of this type of antiquity wound up in British and German Museums. The pieces exhibited here were
collected by Paul Garn from Dresden, Germany, who assembled them through purchases in Paris in the 1920’s.
With regard to the Riefenstahl works (which appear to suffer from having been enlarged beyond the
limitations that the technology of their own era could have prepared them for) these photos of elegantly
sensual African tribes people wearing nothing but oil or ash seem a surprising subject for a proponent
of an Aryan master race.

But Riefenstahl was described by the Economist as the greatest woman filmmaker of the 20th century, and
as striking as these photos are they seem to remain a footnote to her unfortunate association with
Hitler and Goebbels. At this point it may be worth mentioning that Benin City’s wealth and sophistication
is generally attributed to its militaristic culture (which is thought to have included crack female
combatants) and its participation in the Slave Trade with Europeans. Point being: there are advantages
to allowing for an intellectual separation of artists and art from the political contexts they may spring from.
By contrast, Beard’s photos deal more with the relationship between the animals of the region and western
man. His photos, with glitter paint, snap shot sequences of charging animals or drawings super-imposed
on them seem to respond to Africa in a somewhat personal, anecdotal, maybe even ‘African’ way. Then again
Beard has lived in Africa while Riefenstahl only visited.

They seem to represent the presence of upper class non-Africans who have loved the place enough to document
it; an aspect of African history that goes back to the Romans, and probably before them.
The three African photographers presented (Samuel Fosso, Philip Kwame Apagya and Malik Sidibe) seem to tell
a story of aspiration and idealization, and the distinct sense of [post] colonialism in their consistent
tendency to define their African subjects within a non-African context.

Samuel Fosso’s self portraits from 1970’s Cameroon are personal images that depict with different versions
of himself who the photographer might be. Celebrity must be a universal ideal, but Kung Fu fighters and
Japanese sailors are also about macho men. They seem down-to-earth and strangely cerebral compared with
some comparable ‘Western’ work such as that of Cindy Sherman; perhaps because in Fosso’s case the
subject/artist doesn’t mime the character, but is simply present in the costume.

Ghanan Philip Kwame Apagya, the youngest of the three, shows photos of people – many of which in traditional
African clothing – integrated into hand painted backdrops of airplanes, electronics and western-style mansions.
His subjects smile as if they were figures in an advertisement for the products or lifestyle symbols depicted
in the backdrops. If these were of Western origin they would be ironic condemnations of materialism; in this
case however, their intent is more ambiguous. His models probably don’t have these ‘things’ and so with that
in mind the images seem more like magical evocations of what might be….one day.
It’ s easy enough to condemn all our gadgets as materialism when you have them, but probably a lot different
when they may never be accessible to you. And paradoxically, the lightness of these photos suggest that these
subjects (and perhaps the photographer) realize that these ‘things’ don’t really fundamentally change your
life, regardless of how helpful and fun they might be.

Malik Sidibe, described in the gallery’s literature as ‘The Godfather of African Photography,’ is represented
in the exhibition by a number of different works whose dates span several decades; much of it describable as
‘genre’, and not without interest. The most striking has to be ‘Nuit de Noel’ (Christmas Night) which shows
a young African couple dancing gently with their foreheads touching as if celebrating a blissful moment
together. Dressed in Western ‘American Bandstand’ clothes and apparently celebrating Christmas, the couple
seem to be in touch with something that their Western cousins may have sacrificed for modernity; or in any
case replaced with jitterbug rebellion.
Each of these three artists present photographic images that suggest an interest in defining themselves if
not completely then at least partly in a non-African context whether through their clothes, cars, painted
objects, or roles. Not unlike other cultural translations, the results become something distinctly different
from the subject matter’s point of departure.
This show in a selective, somewhat general way provides several different types of artists’ response to Africa,
but in the end is ultimately a reminder of the way in which cultures cross-pollinate and re-echo each other.
This not only reinforces the value of the human imagination, but also confirms that for centuries the global
culture has exhibited parallel and unifying themes.

So although Reifenstahl’s photos of beautifully buff African tribes people seem at first glance to refute an
idea of a ‘Master Race’ (which we have to assume she accepted at some level), perhaps it is moreover an
inherent interest in perfectly formed people that lies behind her personal history and these admiring,
expressive photos. After all, how different (except for skin color) are these photos of women from ones we
have seen of triumphant Third Reich athletes in the famous 1938 Olympic Games?
In the case of the Bronzes, we see work that is reminiscent of Byzantine and Medieval ‘European’ Art, but
maybe the point is that as Rome fell it’s classical artistic tradition morphed into something that was
influenced by colonial Anatolian, African and Celtic art. And need we readdress the influence of ‘Western’
culture on the contemporary African photographers?
What is interesting is the way that each time one culture responds to another, it comes up with something
new that really sheds light on the response as well as the original reference. The Benin bronze bas relief
of the hunting scene (title image above) is so similar to the spatial sense of Giotto’s Quattrocento painting
of Saint Francis Preaching to The Birds that it wouldn’t be too much of a stretch to imagine they’d both been
made in the same general time and place; in fact, they pretty much were.
The real point seems to be that cultures have been cross-pollinating, sharing and exchanging ideas and bouncing
off of and re-discovering their own old ideas in the new ones presented by their neighbors for as long as we
tell: Gothic Architecture finds it’s forms in Islamic fortresses, and then influences Art Nouveau, and later,
skyscrapers in New York and Dubai. Japanese woodblock Prints inspire Post Impressionist Artists and eventually
leads to Western Animation, and then back again to contemporary Japanese Anime. Whether accidentally or not,
this show winds up being a reminder of how cultures interact artistically in a way that ties art from nearly
the last 1000 years together. It’s up until March 21st and worth seeing [.]

The film is set in Hyrule where a young boy from the forest named Link is beckoned by his
dreams and the sage of the forest, the Great Deku Tree, to venture to Hyrule Castle and
seek Princess Zelda's council. The evil Gerudo Sorcerer, Ganondorf, has plotted to overthrow
the kingdom by murdering the king and stealing the Triforce, which propels Princess Zelda
into hiding. Link endeavours to save them by retrieving the Master Sword in the Temple of
Time, consequently sending him 5 years into the future where Ganondorf now rules and threatens
the future of the kingdom. The Sage of Time gives Link his power and sends him on his way to
defeat Ganondorf by collecting power from the other Four Sages, to restore the Sword of Time
to its original state as the Master Sword. Link journeys to Kakariko Village and encounters
Sheik, who accosts him for disappearing for five years before revealing that the Sage of
Fire resides on Death Mountain. While scaling the Mountain, he meets the sole Goron still
living, Darunia, the prince of his people. Goron helps Link scale the rest of the mountain,
and gain access to the area. Having re-awoken the Master Sword, Link returns to Hyrule
Castle with Sheik, for a final confrontation with Ganondorf.

The Atomic Cafe is an acclaimed documentary film about the beginnings of the era of nuclear warfare,
created from a broad range of archival film from the 1940s, 1950s and early 1960s - including
newsreel clips, television news footage, U.S. government-produced films (including military training
films), advertisements, television and radio programs. News footage reflected the prevailing
understandings of the media and public.
The film was produced over a five-year period through the collaborative efforts of three directors
: Jayne Loader, and brothers Kevin and Pierce Rafferty. For this film, the Rafferty brothers and
Loader formed the production company "Archives Project Inc." The filmmakers opted to not use narration,
and instead they deployed carefully constructed sequences of film
clips to make their points. Jayne Loader has referred to The Atomic Cafe as a compilation verite,
meaning that it is a compilation film with no Voice of God narration and no new footage added by the
filmmakers. The soundtrack utilizes atomic-themed songs from the Cold War era to underscore the themes
of the film.
Though the topic of atomic holocaust is a grave matter, the film approaches it with black humor.
Much of the humor derives from the modern audience's reaction to the old training films, such as
the Duck and Cover film shown in schools. The film was released in April 1982. Its release coincided
with a peak in the international disarmament movement, and the
film received much wider distribution than was the norm for politically-oriented documentaries.
It rapidly became a cult classic, and greatly influenced documentary filmmaking.
One of the filmmakers, Kevin Rafferty, was later befriended by a young Michael Moore who was seeking
advice on how to make his first film Roger & Me. Rafferty ended up becoming the cinematographer on
the film and acting as a filmmaking mentor to Moore - who has acknowledged the influence on his own
filmmaking. The UK premiere screening in the British House Of Commons in October 1982 tied the film
to then ongoing debate in the UK
about the deployment of the cruise missile against the Soviet threat. The film was also screened at
the London Film Festival
and nominated for a BAFTA award. The film was released on home video in the UK in 1983 by Virgin

We are told in this documentary that greedy scientists have conspired to concoct the global
climate change "scare" in order to get research grants. Who do you suppose has more money
on their side, scientists or the carbon-based fuel companies?
Look around on the web and find figures for yourself; one I found was: "President Obama’s
FY2011 Budget proposes $2.56 billion in funding for climate and global change research conducted
under the U.S. Global Change Research Program." from the Government Accountability Project
In 2006 ExxonMobil continued to lead the world in both profits ($39.5 billion in 2006) and market
value ($460.43 billion). As of July 1, 2010, ExxonMobil occupied 8 out of 10 slots for Largest
Corporate Quarterly Earnings of All Time [for ANY company]. Furthermore, it occupies 5 out of
10 slots on Largest Corporate Annual Earnings.
These are figures for just one company (albeit the world's largest). Decide for yourself where
the "conspiracy" lies.

Some people just don't want science, they just want to belive in something ...
So, in the final days of the 20th century, the millenium craze created a new pseudo religion -
the belive in the human ability to overpower and cancel out the effects of the sun here on
earth by human ways and means.
"We DID it !", "Mea Culpa!", sounded the belivers, ignoring that all real scientific evidece
pointed to the contrary, that even the scientists quoted by the high priests of "human induced
global warming" didn't know about there luck...
Humans are funny creatures, in the end... Believing they can do anything more to this planet
than making a temporary mess of things. Nothing we have at our disposal can do anything against
the slightest hickup of the sun, or the temporary rage of even the smalest of vulcanos. We can't
stop earthquakes, tectonic shifts or the next ice age. The planet has never been colder than in
the last Million years, we had never before 2 (!!!) polar ice caps...

I do not think that it has been factually proven that the picture we see in our
brain manifests itself in the back of the brain.
There is a lot of activity there, but it does not conclusively prove anything.
Rick's and Davids research is just as valid.
Take it up with them.

STATEMENT ON ART:
In my narrative streetscapes, I take a variety of visual references and create a pastiche
of fictionalized tableaus that are sad, coarse and degenerate. This invented world
dramatizes the spectacle of street culture, where people aimlessly wander and interact
in a state of somnambulistic rebellion. The weary structures and street signs that backdrop
these individuals metaphorically mimic their isolation and subtle desperation. These sordid
tales of public humiliation serve as an allegory for the ever-expanding malaise of the
working class, in the grand narrative tradition of Hogarth, Goya, and Dix.

A guy who I knew Marvin Burnsteen (made an attempt at producing a documentry series) with money he earned
as a camara man on the film by Micnael Angelio Antonieoney in the 60's some film where the beauityfull
Aley Mc Graw type protaginest blows up a beauityful lFrank Loyde Wright type house Boom!!!
And becaus of that camara job he got into being a documentarian and was then hired by the Pentagon brass
to check out the rumors about the Persidio and as well as investigate draft dogers in canada and among
other things stumbles into an interview whear a disrought would be GI or aol kid comits suaside [for real]
on camara as if on cue he jumps out a wingow in frount of him and then Marvin freeks out as a result of
even presure from the left and the right, the what with the Pentagon Brassneadeling him to supress his
footage of both the films (the antiwar doc and the investavigative journal about our US military prison
sadistic "hazings" ala Abu Greb[nothing new] precursor or echo of the Living theators "THE BRIG", which
exposes or soft petals as lefty propaganda the harsh practices of the American Millitary on Our own Boys
some what ironic brcause the 2 films were a marage of conveinance and White Wash by [National]Church And
[Pentagon] State.

I am a pacifist. I do not believe in war, and I do realize that most war
is waged using propaganda to gain the support of the people...I realize
that terrorism is not? unique to other nations, that many wars and
conflicts/coups/government overthrows are done covertly, and the US is
very good at this form of politicking. I am not condoning any of it.
Innocent lives lost in war, no matter nationality is tragic.

The Army's Robotics Rodeo is open to everyone! No cost! May 14 -
17 at Fort Benning, GA... The idea of Robots being used instead of humans
really appeals to me. Especially Robots that? can operate simply by an onboard
computer program verses radio controlled Robots :) Providing sniper fire,
launching missles and grenades, clearing those Taliban caves and controlling

i dont think their goal was to market this exact model, but to demonstrate
its possibilities for something that COULD go mainstream, something more practical.
You gotta consider that by presenting this invention they are probably getting tons
of potential investors from the hype alone, anyone crazy enough to spend the money
on it now is just a bonus.

The target demographic is likely the elderly, not the obese
(as with most robotic innovations from Japan). A large and increasing
percentage of the Japanese population is over 65; they are experiencing
negative growth.
U3-X is an elegant solution to improve elderly mobility and is significantly
better than the alternatives (visit 'The Scooter Store' for? comparisons).

BBE Two Timer analog delay pedal. The unique feature of this pedal is a switch allowing
you to toggle between 2 different delay times, each with their own adjustment.
Controls for Mix and Repeat are shared.
The delay time range is relatively short, ranging from 0 to 330 milliseconds,
so don't to create big, long echoes. But it is analog, so can get down on one knee and
start twisting the dials to create some fun, never-ending spaceship feedback noise.
BBE Two Timer also features true bypass switching, and the battery life, so far, has
been outstanding, compared to other delay pedals I have. (The US version includes an
AC adaptor.)
Very sturdy box. I can imagine this taking quite a beating, with nothing more than a
few battle scars to show. BBE warranties it for 5 years. Street price is US $149.

Ira Cohen (born February 3, 1935) is an American poet, publisher, photographer and filmmaker
born in New York City to deaf parents. During the 1960s, he traveled to Tangier, where he
published the exorcism magazine GNAOUA. He also published The Hashish Cookbook under the
name of Panama Rose. He continued to travel until 1980, when he returned to New York City,
where he now resides. ....In his loft on the Lower East Side, Cohen created the
"mylar images", future icons developed by a "mythographer". Among the reflected artists
in his mirror: John McLaughlin, William Burroughs and Jimi Hendrix who said that looking
at these photos was like looking through butterfly wings. Timothy Baum, noted expert in
Man Ray, Marcel Duchamp, said that these images were jewels and should be shown at
Tiffany's. With this shamanic and tantric exercise Cohen explored the whole spectrum of
photography from infrared to black light. In 1968 he also directed the "phantasmaglorical"
film Invasion of Thunderbolt Pagoda and produced Paradise Now, a film of the Living
Theatre's historic American tour. Invasion Of Thunderbolt Pagoda was inspired by the films
of Kenneth Anger and Sergei Parajanov and began as an extension of his photography work
with his He went to the Himalayas in the '70s where he started the starstream poetry series
under the Bardo matrix imprint in Kathmandu, publishing the work of Charles Henri Ford, Gregory
Corso, Paul Bowles and Angus Maclise; and developing his art of bookmaking, working with
native craftsmen. In 1972 he spent a year in San Francisco reading and performing and then
returned to New York mounting photographic shows.
During the 1980s Cohen made trips to Ethiopia, Japan, and back to India where he documented
on video the great kumbh mela festival, the largest spiritual gathering on the planet.
In the latter part of the decade Synergetic Press (London) published On Feet of Gold, a
book of selected poems. He was also a contributing editor of Third Rail magazine, a review
of international arts and literature based in Los Angeles.
Ira Cohen saw his poems published during the 1990s in England by Temple Press under the
title Ratio 3: Media Shamans Along with Two Good Poet Friends, Gerard Malanga (Factory)
and Angus Maclise. He had a show called Retrospectacle at the October Gallery in London
and he also took part along with William Burroughs, Terry Wilson and Hakim Bey at a Here

In 1994 Sub Rosa records released his first CD, The Majoon Traveller, with dj Cheb i Sabbah,
which also included the work of Don Cherry and Ornette Coleman.
