Proposal to be developed for a television series, leading with a television special or
documentary film:

Possible titles:
1.   “Species Prerogative”
2.   "Species Prerogative: Autonomy"
3.   "Autonomy"
4. “Energy Autonomy”

Our position is one of bridging the issues of ‘Big Oil’ use and the ‘Peak Oil’ situation
with which we are faced, to direct focus on an energy independent "renewable" global
alternative future.

The exploration of this future will be accomplished by highlighting opportunities for
alternative autonomous energy producing devices which can be used on a global scale as
efficient & practical solutions.

Discussion Points:

- Speaking to the current global energy crisis and attendant issues, including
pollution of the environment, waste hazards, etc.

- Survey energy resources for human needs: i.e., Fuel, Manpower, Technology etc.,
concentrating on uses, sources, supply distribution and costs.

- Discussion of historical energy sources and uses up to the present, how they affect
the global environment and how various populations are affected by such historical uses.

Point out the historical reality that we burn everything: Use examples: Whale oil was
first used, then replaced by kerosene as lamp light came from refined oil, followed
by gasoline, which replaced white lighting [corn mash-alcohol gasoline, in the first
of Henry Ford’s cars (the Model A)], which resulted in an end to renewable fuel and
national autonomy.

Electricity: Consider the problem in which, for the last 100 years, we have burned
electricity for lights. Conventional Edison-based bulbs waste 80% of their electricity
as heat, in conjunction with even more fuel use to cool our workspaces. A further 75%
to 80% of electricity is lost in its transmission over powerlines to the powermains of
end users in cities and towns throughout the world.

Solution: Better zero-heat-wasting lamps and more efficient use of sun and air flow.
(See Carnegie Melon University info on efficient architectural design, integrated
for maximum usage of all available energy. )

Possible future alternative for global scenarios:

Focus on:

A.    The imperative/obligation to find functioning and efficient alternative energies;
B.    Current and promising novel and emerging alternative technologies which may likely
replace traditional resources, i.e, Big Oil ;
C.    Potentials of the known alternative to Big Oil

The options currently available:

OIL

Coal

Wind

Solar

Hydrogen

Biomass

Atomic

Highlight opportunities for autonomy on a global scale as practical, efficient and safe solutions.

Some definitions of alternative energy:

Active
Crystalline PV
Nanotechnologies
Polymers

Explain the difference between Polymer vs. Silicone photocells and the various advantages of each
type of Photovoltaic material for different applications.

Discuss “Autonomous Installations” (e.g., use of wind in local generation of energy)
verses dependence on utilities, utility companies.

Examine: tidal energy; rivers; “Low Head” power devices; energy alternatives
to Mega-structures; gigantic dams and wind mill farms vs. ecologically friendly,
small scale "local" solutions to the Mega structures which force population
shifts to crushing into overcrowded Cities (as found in Brazil, India, China etc.)
to use the large scale power collectors which work for short term but require heavier
indebtedness and greater credit costs.

A key goal is to foster awareness of resource dependencies.

Give sharper perspective to the equity issues with respect to equity of natural resources, and a
growing demand/increasing consumption.

Highlight emerging technological developments.

Promote individual actions to these critical resource challenges.

A circular presentation may serve to clarify possible chapter headings (rather than a table-type
chart or graph).

Create an overview, with a focus on:

- Autonomy

- Energy

- Water: Desalinization purification waste-management hydrogen fuel cells etc.

- Food: Production, storage, preservation, preparation, waste recycling, distribution

New developments in materials: Many exciting developments have been and are being derived
from "space research".

Civilization: Touch upon cultures, population growth issues.
Maintenance of infrastructure creating an infrastructure.

Review if California could act as a model of the type of growth which may be mimicked by
the rest of the country and world (China, India, Brazil, etc.)

Acknowledge different approaches due to differing societies: Cultural, religious historical
or traditional relation to tasks, historical mindsets, etc..,

Climate increasingly needs demystifying.

Technology may bring a cost-effective solution to previously disadvantaged regions.

Proposal to be developed for a television series, leading with a television special or
documentary film:

Possible titles:
1.   “Species Prerogative”
2.   "Species Prerogative: Autonomy"
3.   "Autonomy"
4. “Energy Autonomy”

Our position is one of bridging the issues of ‘Big Oil’ use and the ‘Peak Oil’ situation
with which we are faced, to direct focus on an energy independent "renewable" global
alternative future.

The exploration of this future will be accomplished by highlighting opportunities for
alternative autonomous energy producing devices which can be used on a global scale as
efficient & practical solutions.

Discussion Points:

- Speaking to the current global energy crisis and attendant issues, including
pollution of the environment, waste hazards, etc.

- Survey energy resources for human needs: i.e., Fuel, Manpower, Technology etc.,
concentrating on uses, sources, supply distribution and costs.

- Discussion of historical energy sources and uses up to the present, how they affect
the global environment and how various populations are affected by such historical uses.

Point out the historical reality that we burn everything: Use examples: Whale oil was
first used, then replaced by kerosene as lamp light came from refined oil, followed
by gasoline, which replaced white lighting [corn mash-alcohol gasoline, in the first
of Henry Ford’s cars (the Model A)], which resulted in an end to renewable fuel and
national autonomy.

Electricity:   Consider the problem in which, for the last 100 years, we have burned
electricity for lights. Conventional Edison-based bulbs waste 80% of their electricity
as heat, in conjunction with even more fuel use to cool our workspaces. A further 75%
to 80% of electricity is lost in its transmission over powerlines to the powermains of
end users in cities and towns throughout the world.

Solution: Better zero-heat-wasting lamps and more efficient use of sun and air flow.

for maximum usage of all available energy. )

Possible future alternative for global scenarios:

Focus on:

A.    The imperative/obligation to find functioning and efficient alternative energies;
B.    Current and promising novel and emerging alternative technologies which may likely
replace traditional resources, i.e, Big Oil ;
C.    Potentials of the known alternative to Big Oil

The options currently available:

    OIL

    Coal

    Wind

    Solar

    Hydrogen

    Biomass

    Atomic

Highlight opportunities for autonomy on a global scale as practical, efficient and safe solutions.

Explain the difference between Polymer vs. Silicone photocells and the various advantages of each
type of Photovoltaic material for different applications.

Discuss “Autonomous Installations” (e.g., use of wind in local generation of energy)
verses dependence on utilities, utility companies.

Examine: tidal energy; rivers; “Low Head” power devices; energy alternatives
to Mega-structures; gigantic dams and wind mill farms vs. ecologically friendly,
small scale "local" solutions to the Mega structures which force population
shifts to crushing into overcrowded Cities (as found in Brazil, India, China etc.)
to use the large scale power collectors which work for short term but require heavier
indebtedness and greater credit costs.

A key goal is to foster awareness of resource dependencies.

Give sharper perspective to the equity issues with respect to equity of natural resources, and a
growing demand/increasing consumption.

Highlight emerging technological developments.

Promote individual actions to these critical resource challenges.

A circular presentation may serve to clarify possible chapter headings (rather than a table-type
chart or graph).

Create an overview, with a focus on:

    - Autonomy

    - Energy

    - Water: Desalinization purification waste-management hydrogen fuel cells etc.

    - Food: Production, storage, preservation, preparation, waste recycling, distribution

New developments in materials: Many exciting developments have been and are being derived
from "space research".

Civilization: Touch upon cultures, population growth issues.
Maintenance of infrastructure creating an infrastructure.

Review if California could act as a model of the type of growth which may be mimicked by
the rest of the country and world (China, India, Brazil, etc.)

Acknowledge different approaches due to differing societies: Cultural, religious historical
or traditional relation to tasks, historical mindsets, etc..,

Climate increasingly needs demystifying.

Technology may bring a cost-effective solution to previously disadvantaged regions.
